Hey everybody !!
This past weekend the boys and I had the pleasure of attending the Polar Express at West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish!! In the twenty something years that I lived in Vancouver, I have never been or heard of the Polar Express ! So of course, I was absolutely thrilled that we were finally going [childhood dreams do come true!].
We started off the day by getting up super early, 6:00am to be exact! Our train ride was at 10:00am and considering how long it would take us to get ready, out the door, commute and be there half an hour early it was a must!
Once we arrived, I instantly recognized the location since we had just been there a week prior for Refresh Market [I was also there bright and early 😉]! When we were walking up to retrieve our tickets we were greeted by some friendly volunteers. Once we had our Golden Tickets in hand we headed to the line to board the Polar Express!!
We started off by finding our seats on the Polar Express !! Once we were seated and ready to go, the fun began!! The 50 minute train ride was like no other! We had first class tickets which included some delicious cookies and hot chocolate which was served in some gorgeous Polar Express mugs [pictured below] !! All the while, singing christmas carols and enjoying the actors portraying the characters from the movie!
When we arrived at the North Pole, it was covered in beautiful christmas trees, lights, mini towns, and snow! There was so many great things to do there !
We wrote letters to Santa!
Built an awesome Wooden train !
and of course, we had our photos snapped with Mr. and Mrs. Claus!
It was a loonng day to see the least but our family had an amazing time at the Polar Express ! Unfortunately, tickets for this year have sold out, however, I highly recommend that you put riding the Polar Express train on your to do list next year [oh, and don’t forget to bring snacks and some christmas cheer!].
