Hello Hello Hello to all,
I’ve heard it time and time again, how “Teen Mothers” don’t make great moms. Who knows, maybe thats true, I’m not here to convince you if we are or not. What I do know for sure though, is that my sister and I (who were both Teen Moms) are raising amazing children. And if that doesn’t say anything about our age and our abilities as mothers then I don’t know what does and to be frank, I don’t care.
Between the two of us, we’ve birthed three boys and one girl. Two you already know Jay & Abel. The other two, who I sometimes speak about on my Instagram, are my niece and nephew, Lulu & Jose.
My sister and I have created these children in our bodies. We’ve birthed them. We’ve nursed them. We wipe their tears away. We change their stinky diapers and yes, we parent them. Like the rest of your children, they call us mommy. No matter what age we were when we had them, they are still children.
These four are the reason why my sister and I continue to persevere as young mothers. Many of you may never get to the chance to meet our children but let tell you a little about them.
The oldest of the four and now self proclaimed protector of his little cousins and Abel. He has gone through much in his 9 year of life. Sitting in his stroller while his teen mom pushes in him towards daycare, waves him farewell and blows him a kiss, he has no idea what she’s doing for him. He’s seen me through so many hardships, he wants to protect me. Oh how my heart aches for him at times. My boy is kind, compassionate and thoughtful. He catches onto peoples emotions almost instantly. I know he will make a difference in this world.
Much like Jay, she’s been through a lot. Her fiery spirit reminds me of myself. She’s kind, fierce, and strong. She loves to crack jokes and beat up all her uncles, even though they spoil her rotten! She watches my sister care for her and her brother. She doesn’t understand what my sister is doing for her quite yet but soon she will. I love her like she’s my own daughter and know she’s going to be something great.
When he was born, he flew out. That should have been the first sign that I would be constantly chasing after him. I call him my booty boy. He loves to sing, dance and scream his brains out. I was 23 when I gave birth to him. By the time he was born, I wasn’t considered a teen mom but now a “young” mom. He’s loved by all and completes our little family !
The best baby ever to be born, I swear! He’s so freaking adorable and brings so much joy to my sister and her family. He’s a little boob savage and all he wants to do is sleep, poop, and eat. His teethless little smile makes me the happiest Aunt !! I can’t wait to watch him grow!!
Whenever I am child free I always end up with my sister. I’m so grateful to have my sister by my side and share our journeys together. I hope that by reading this, you will reconsider making snap judgements on people. You truly never know what they are going through.
