It’s the most wonderful time of the year…. or is it? I am the worst at hosting holiday parties, so naturally the thought of organizing an event for a party of five or more, sort of terrifies me. So, I opt for being a guest! However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s no stress to being a guest. After many years of attending holiday parties, here are four easy ways to  survive a Holiday ParTEA!

Bring A Drink

As funny as it sounds, something as simple as a cold drink can help calm your nerves. Thankfully Pure Leaf provides us with five different flavours (Unsweetened, Lemon, Green Tea, Raspberry & Peach) that you can mix with some alcoholic goodness and will help you get through your party! If you’re the designated driver for the night, add some raspberries to your Lemon flavoured Pure Leaf which is just as enjoyable and tastes delicious.

Icebreaker

There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable at a holiday party hosted by your closest friend. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) your bestie probably invited a few people that you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting before! Take the time to walk over and get to know them better.  A simple question like “How do you know {insert name here}” can help get the conversation going! You’ll never know what it may blossom into.

Follow The Fun

The worst thing you can do is not be “present” at the party! Standing to the side and not interacting is not fun for anybody! Whether it be an office, family or friends holiday party, being an active participant is always a good idea. If you tend to shy away from holiday parties, because of your introverted nature, you can always make an appearance and leave whenever you feel you had enough.

which leads me to my last tip..

Have an Exit Plan

Holiday parties may seem to last forever, especially if you’re not having any fun or just had one too many. Make sure you have a safe plan to get home. For example, carpool, call a cab, or if you’re staying with family, set up a time for them to swing by and get you.

Voila! You are now equipped to attend those holiday ParTEAs!
