oh motherhood, sometimes you are too much for this mama, but there is no other place I’d rather be then snuggled up in between my two sweet boys.

Here are 5 Easy Ways To Give Yourself Some Grace {in motherhood}:

Today, I write this post with a light heart in hopes to reach out to one of you and let you know, it’s ok. It’s ok to feel vulnerable, it’s ok to feel sad, it’s ok to cry and scream into your pillow. I know, because a year ago, I was in the worst state of mind. Not realizing that I was battling myself to be myself, I let it take control.

I was unhappy, I had no patience and worst of all, I took it out on the people who loved me the most. A year later, I’m standing stronger, taller and better than ever to give YOU hope that with the help of your family and friends, you will make it through.

 Learn To Say No

One of my dearest friends told me once, “you cannot poor from an empty cup”. Learning to say “no” as a mother shouldn’t be challenging. However, we allow ourselves to say “yes” to dirty laundry and dirty dishes, but continually say “no” to our children? Learning to put yourself and your children before the dishes, before the laundry, before social media is a  must and is the best way to start giving yourself some grace.

Take Time For Yourself

Mamas, when I hear “I don’t have time for myself” from you, it makes me so, so, so, sad inside. You know why? because I used to say these words. The best thing I decided to do was to take time for myself, no matter what, I arranged a sitter and/or took time off work to do things that allowed me to reset. Yesterday was one of my reset days and yes, I feel better.

Accept Your Truth

The truth of the matter is, is that no one else is meant to walk your path. As much as, we hope and pray to be on the greener side of the fence, we are not. The path you are on is meant for you and only you. I have been through one hell of a path and I would never trade it for someone else’s. Every single step I’ve taken has made me stronger.

Ask For Help

Once you can accept your truth, it is easy to ask for help. Whether it be family, a friend, a co-worker,  your pastor {and in my case} even my boss, you start to fight this battle of mental health together. When you have people to support and lean on , you start to see things clearly. Remember it takes a village.

Remember,  They Love You

As hard as it is to admit, I’ve taken my stress out on my littles {Jay & Abel}. I am not a perfect mother and I will never claim to be. But, when the entire house is silent and you’re up alone with nothing but your thoughts, remember, they love you. You are their world, with every fiber of your being, remember, THEY LOVE YOU.

It’s time to break your silence, remember, you are not alone in your fight.
